Important - HS transcripts for college admissions

Students, please make sure to request through the Parchment link on the left, unless you are using the Common App or Coalition App (then you request transcripts through those sites). Please note that if you have taken dual credit courses, you will need to request transcripts from that institution. i.e., Ivy Tech, in order for your college to grant you the college credits.

LILLY SCHOLARSHIP

The 2027 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is now open and applications must be submitted by 4:59 p.m. on September 9, 2026. In 2026, two La Porte County students will be selected to receive full tuition and required fees for four years of undergraduate study at an eligible Indiana college or university, plus up to $900 per year for required books and equipment. The Urban League of NWI is holding the 2026 Scholarship Fair September 22, 2026 from 9-12 NOON at Indiana University Northwest. High school seniors are invited to enroll and are offered scholarships from universities "on the spot" at this event! Last year, over $11 million was offered to students, along with college acceptance on the day of the event! Don't miss this great opportunity for your school or community organization to gain exposure and support students!

🎓 FAFSA Facts vs. Myths—What You Really Need to Know

  • The FAFSA® application is open (Oct 1st), and now’s the perfect time to separate fact from fiction. To help you feel confident and ready, Going Merry has created a few resources to help guide you through the process.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Please pay attention as we will post Scholarships as we are notified about them. There are many helpful search engines that can aid you as well such as Sallie Mae, Scholarship.com, CollegeBoard, etc.

NCAA Reminders: Visit the High School Portal to upload final transcripts with proof of graduation to your student's Eligibility Center account. If you have additional semesters since the last upload, continue uploading these transcripts. Also, please upload four-semester and six-semester transcripts so that the Eligibility Center may complete preliminary reviews.

The LPHS Alumni Scholarship will be available on the Unity Foundation website. Please check their site for this information.

HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, AND JUNIORS -Taking Ivy Tech courses while in high school gives you the opportunity to explore future careers and discover your passion while earning college credit! You may even have the ability to complete the Indiana College Core or earn an associate degree before you graduate from high school, saving you time and money.

Indiana College Core: The Indiana College Core ensures that your 30 hours of general education credit transfer between public colleges and universities. By completing this credential at Ivy Tech while you’re still in high school, you can ensure that most, if not all, of your core college classes will be completed by the time you begin college, regardless of which school you choose to attend.


Associate Degree. By working hard to earn your associate degree in high school, you will be ready to transition directly into the workforce and begin a fulfilling career after graduation, or you can seamlessly transfer to a four-year college or university and earn your bachelor’s degree in only two years, saving you thousands of dollars.
